The Reader
Throughout my life fantasy has been my favorite genre. while I do read si-fi as well my favorite books are all fantasy. When I was in middle school I read primarily books by Christopher Paolini and Eoin Colfer. These two authors I think inspired most of my reading since. I have read books such as Name Of The Wind, Pathfinder, Final Empire, and Lord Of The Rings.
While I used to read a lot at home on the couch, in my room, in the car, at school I basically read everywhere. Nowadays however I usually listen to audio books while in the car as well as reading when I go to bed. This change was interesting at first but overall increased the amount of books I finished. Going into my sophomore year I had a problem choosing what books to read. I was really interested in Robin Hobb at the time but I also wanted to read something I thought was more challenging. I chose Magician: Apprentice by Raymond E. Fiest.
My reading experiences have not always been great though. In the early part of middle school I was forced to read realistic fiction and historical fiction. At first I didn't mind the books I had read from the genre hadn't been that bad but it had been a while. Once I started getting into my first book of sixth grade however I began to realize my hate for the genre. I went through the book super slow and ended up failing the assignment. Since I have been cautious when choosing realistic fiction to read barely reading it at all.
I began reading when I was two years old. My first book was something along the lines of Big Hat Cat. From their it only got better I began reading chapter books at the age of around four starting with Henry and Mudge. At the age of seven I read my first true novel Warriors: Into The Woods.
